1597: Nightingale
for a random comic |
For a math comic, it's a little strange that this isn't my first reference to the Crimean War. Florence Nightingale was born May 12, 1820, two hundred years ago (yesterday). I didn't think I was going to do a comic, but a comment I made online about a Great Women of Mathematics tweet was well received, so I figured that I'd share it with the comic audience. You miss a lot of my silliness when you're not following me on Twitter, @mrburkemath. (You can also go there to leave comments!) |
