While this parodies the Tennessee Ernie Ford song of yore, my first exposure to this song (that I remember) was actually Bowzer and Sha Na Na ... of yore.

Actually, I've been reminded by family that my brother (and my father?) used to sing that song a lot when I was a kid, which is probably why it sticks out in my memory the time Bowser sang it.
